Hendaye is a town located on the southwestern coast of France, close to the border with Spain. It is situated on the Atlantic coast and on the banks of the Bidassoa River. Hendaye is part of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The total area of the town is around 15.5 square kilometers and it has a population of around 16,000 people. The town is known for its long sandy beach, which is popular with surfers and swimmers. It is also a popular destination for hiking, cycling, and water sports. Hendaye is well connected by road, rail and air with the major cities of France and Spain.
